Randall Herbert Balmer (* 22. Oktober 1954 in Chicago) ist ein US-amerikanischer Religionshistoriker. Er ist Professor für Theologie am Dartmouth College und war zuvor Professor für Religionsgeschichte am Barnard College der Columbia University. Zudem ist er ein Herausgeber von Christianity Today sowie Priester der Episkopalkirche.

Randall Balmer erlangte seinen Ph.D. 1985 an der Princeton University. Er veröffentlichte mehrere Bücher zur amerikanischen Religionsgeschichte und publizierte die „Encyclopedia of Evangelicalism“. Sein Buch „Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory: A Journey into the Evangelical Subculture in America“ war Grundlage einer dreiteiligen Dokumentation im amerikanischen öffentlichen Fernsehen PBS. Andere Dokumentation von ihm, die auf PBS gesendet wurden, sind „Crusade: The Life of Billy Graham“ und „In the Beginning: The Creationist Controversy.“
