Blutweinen ist ein behauptetes Weinen von Blut aus den Augen von Madonnenstatuen.

Die katholische Kirche hat einige Fälle als echt anerkannt, e.g. in Syracuse Sicily the 1949 shedding of tears from a statue was recognized by the Catholic bishops of Sicily on August 29, 1953.[1] Our Lady of Akita was declared as worthy of belief by the Holy Office in 1988, and remains the only weeping statue recognized by the Holy Office.
