Nippon Sharyō Seizō K.K. (japanisch 日本車輌製造株式会社, deutsch „Japanische Waggonbau-AG“, englisch Nippon Sharyo, Ltd.) ist einer der größten und wichtigsten japanischen Schienenfahrzeughersteller, dessen Ursprünge bereits in das Jahr 1896 zurückreichen. Der Firmensitz liegt in Nagoya (Aichi). Nach finanziellen Schwierigkeiten wurde Nippon Sharyō 2008 von Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central, englisch für JR Tōkai) übernommen, welche 50,1 % der Anteile hält.

Das Unternehmen exportiert Schienenfahrzeuge in eine Vielzahl von asiatischen und amerikanischen Ländern, so beispielsweise nach Argentinien, Brasilien, Kanada, Singapur, Venezuela und die USA.

Besondere Bekanntheit errang das Unternehmen durch die Herstellung verschiedener Baureihen des japanischen Hochgeschwindigkeitszuges Shinkansen.

Zeitweise fertigte das Unternehmen auch Schürfraupen. So entwickelten die Ingenieure auf Grundlage einer Lizenzvereinbarung mit Menck & Hambrock die SR2000, eine Schürfraupe mit 10 Kubikmeter Kübelvolumen und 315 PS Leistung. Von dieser Schürfraupe wurden zusammen mit dem Nachfolgemodell SR2001 bis zur Produktionseinstellung rund 3000 Stück gefertigt.^[3]

In den USA erhielt die Firma 2012 einen Auftrag über 120 Doppelstockwagen für verschiedene Amtrak-Strecken (Next Generation Bi-Level Passenger Rail Car), welche seit Juli 2012 in Rochelle (Illinois) produziert werden sollten. In Folge eines nicht bestandenen Crashtests und des anschließenden Entzugs des Auftrags liegt das Werk seit Herbst 2017 still und soll geschlossen werden.
